Proficient

ACCA members with a minimum of 3 years’ experience gained during the journey to qualification. At this career level you are usually expected to have some post qualification experience where you build further on the Insight, Drive and Collaboration skills needed to succeed.

Expert

ACCA members/fellows with considerable post qualification experience with a breadth and depth of exposure to a variety of scenarios. At this career level, you are likely to be managing a team or function, or progressing strongly in a specialist area of expertise.

Leader

ACCA fellows with vastly significant post qualification experience. At this level, you are likely to be a senior leader perhaps in a C-suite or entrepreneurial role.

Financial management

Responsibilities

Implements effective investment and financing decisions within the business environment in areas such as investment appraisal, business re-organisations, tax and risk management, treasury and working capital management, to ensure value creation.

I enhance the organisation's financial management processes based on best practice and innovative current developments.

I review, appraise and evaluate investment asset valuations, corporate social responsibility and sustainability decisions, providing recommendations.

I forecast risk, its likelihood and impact and assess the organisation's exposure and regulatory compliance using integrated and standardised risk management processes.

I evaluate decisions affecting cost of capital, capital structure, treasury functions and the distribution of profits to maximise sustainable shareholder value or to relate to social objectives.

I identify, evaluate and advise on alternative sources of finance and on different ways of raising revenues and finance.

I appraise potential merger and acquisition options and make initial recommendations on their progression.
