Responsibilities

Implements effective investment and financing decisions within the business environment in areas such as investment appraisal, business re-organisations, tax and risk management, treasury and working capital management, to ensure value creation.

I consider current developments in regulation, governance and best practice and communicate and advise on the impact of these on financial-decision making.


I advise on the organisation's financial strategy and financial and risk management whilst managing potential conflicting internal and/or external stakeholders’ expectations.


I appraise, advise on and, where appropriate, approve long term and complex business asset valuations, capital projects, investments, treasury and other financing initiatives based upon the investment portfolio of the organisation and the anticipation of future needs.


I assess and advise on appropriate strategies to manage organisational and finance risks and regulatory compliance and their impact to enhance sustainable value creation.


I advise on and approve the organisation's sources of revenues/finance and capital structures considering new and innovative financing practices taking into account corporate social responsibility and sustainability.


I advise on and recommend to internal and/or external stakeholders alternative corporate re-organisation strategies, multinational or cross border issues, change initiatives and merger and acquisition options.

Advanced financial modeler from the financial modeling institute

Financial modeling plays an integral part in business decision making, with modelers informing key transactions and critical business decisions. Being able to validate your learning with an accreditation allows you to demonstrate technical modeling skills most valued by employers.

The financial modelling institute (FMI) is the only financial modeling accreditation body in the world. The FMI exists to create and uphold international industry best practices with respect to financial modeling skills. Through its exams and accreditations, the FMI allows candidates, employers and the broader community to recognise true ability in financial modeling.

The advanced financial modeler (AFM) is the FMI’s first level of accreditation. Only candidates who demonstrate the required level of proficiency in the AFM exam can successfully achieve the AFM accreditation, and show validated expertise in financial modeling.
