Complies with tax regulation and systems, communicates with relevant stakeholders to establish and ethically manage tax liabilities for individuals and companies, using appropriate tax computation and planning techniques.

I follow set processes and guidelines in order to adhere to and reinforce the underlying tax strategy of my organisation.


I complete and review computations of taxable amounts and tax liabilities according to legal requirements, including extracting and analysing data from financial records.


I understand the tax framework in the jurisdiction in which I operate and its underlying rationale. 


I make sure that individuals and entities comply with their (direct and indirect) tax obligations – on time, and in the spirit and letter of the law.


I make routine enquires to, and respond ethically to requests for, information from the tax authorities.


I use relevant technology applications as they apply to taxation. 


I explain the operation and scope of the tax system, obligations of tax payers and the implications of non-compliance to stakeholders.


I ethically advise on tax issues and minimisation and/or deferral of tax through standard planning.


I report the tax implications of an organisation's transactions in accordance with corporate and international tax accounting standards.


I undertake research using tax legislation and other statutory and regulatory provisions. 


I understand the part that tax plays within the corporate social responsibility agenda of the  organisation and this informs the work that I do on a daily basis.
